Let's get your young person started with Company acting classes in Canberra!
When you become a member of Company, you'll be applying and refining your acting skills in a wide range of theatrical and cinematic styles. You'll be learning through scene work, monologues, acting for camera, mask and mime, and character development. You'll dabble in a range of genres, from comedy through to Shakespeare, and you'll work with scripts, improvise scenes, and explore the integration of voice and body ("the actor's instrument") on stage.
Screen work involves learning the skills of acting for camera, as well as presenting duologues and monologues which can be watched back and analysed.
Script content varies from term to term, but may involve anything from investigation of current social issues, through to exploring familiar character types and archetypes, heightened language, and how to create believable performances.
Actors in company would be well-prepared to move on to our Certificate IV in Acting for Stage and Screen if they so choose.
This class is $335 for a 10-week term (based on ACT public school terms). This includes a copy of a film of a scene created by your child during the term.
