Christie Eckersley

Teaching Artist

Christie Eckersley is an Opera Singer, Actor, Director. Christie has been running and coordinating various programs, events and productions for the last seven years and has taught vocal and drama  students for five years. Having studied Music Performance, specialising in Opera, to a Postgraduate level at the Queensland Conservatorium Christie has extensive experience performing and working as a creative on productions. 

As a performer Christie has performed roles including The Sorceress from “Dido and Aeneas”, Yvette in scenes from “La Rondine,” Mère Marie in scenes from “Dialogues des Carmélites” and the role of Grandmother from the premier production of “Dry River Run” with the Queensland Conservatorium. Most recently, Christie returned from overseas where she performed as Mutte from “Hänsel und Gretel” and worked as a directorial and production assistant for the Berlin Opera Academy and their four additional multi cast operatic productions in Switzerland during June-September of 2021.

Christie has a passion for guiding teams to create energetic and meaningful productions and empowering and mentoring young performers in developing their performance skills, not only for the immediate productions but for life.
