Meet your tutor
Originally from New Zealand, Samuel Farr has been performing on stage for over 20 years covering a mix of vocal, dance, dramatic and musical theatre performance. He studied a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a double major in Theatre Studies and Anthropology at the University of Otago where his academic focus was on Queer Musical Theatre. Having covered a little of everything from promenade Shakespeare to Monty Python and Wicked, direction, choreography, writing, dramaturgy and design, Samuel is passionate about theatre in all the many forms the art can take. That said, his first love will always be musical theatre and he is very excited to be sharing this passion with his classes.
Do I get to perform?
Yes, you do!
From time to time, you'll be in a concert or a performance of some kind. For instance, every year Perform Australia has a Birthday Gala Concert, and a range of other opportunities through the year. COVID permitting, we may also sing at nursing homes or other events.

What students say
"I just wanted thank you guys... I enrolled and attended your 'Acting 101' class last year. I had no experience whatsoever in theatre and acting. "After attending the course, I later auditioned for the lead role of “Jesus” in the local production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'... I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to play the role. I believe the experience I gained with your classes gave me the confidence and ability to perform under the audition pressure - so thank you for your great work." - David
"Acting 101 has been the best introduction to acting - I always wanted to try, but never had the chance till now. The classes were fun and friendly and I really felt like I could get involved in all the activities without being shy. It was great! Highly recommend." - Kylie
