Step out of your comfort zone...
Improvised theatre - also known as "improv" or "impro" - is a form of live performance where the entire show is created spontaneously... without a script!
You may have seen "Thank God You're Here" or "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" on TV and wondered how they do it. Well, improv has some fundamental rules and parameters which allow a scene to flow.
In Back To Improv, you'll review those important building blocks, including:
-
The principle of "Yes, And": A key concept which teaches you to accept your scene partner's offer and push the scene forward
-
Being present and listening: Responding to your scene partner
-
Supporting your scene partner and making them look good: avoiding blocking scenes, validating the ideas of others, and responding generously to them
-
Making impulse-led offers: generating ideas and extending your ideas into storylines
-
and more!

Throughout the course, you'll begin to develop some important skills as an actor:
-
Quick Thinking and Adaptability
-
Active Listening and Collaboration
-
Emotional Authenticity
-
Creativity and Risk-Taking
-
Confidence and Stage Presence
-
Storytelling Skills
