  • How to get into the industry

About Your Tutors

In this acting workshop, you'll be learning from two of Perform Australia's favourite teachers - Kaitlyn Boye and Brendan Kelly!

Kaitlyn Boye

Kaitlyn Boyé, an award-winning actress from Australia, has made significant marks on both the screen and behind the camera. On-screen, her notable roles include portraying Abbi Simmons on Network 7's Home and Away, Anna in Nik Kacevski's Skinford, the voice of Charlotte in the final season of A Place To Call Home, and Alice in Tony D'Aquino's modern slasher, The Furies, among other achievements.


Dedicated to her craft, Kaitlyn consistently trains in fight combat and stunt coordination. Her dedication to physically demanding roles was highlighted by her recent journey to Finland, where she played the villain Fugu in the popular Finnish superhero film, RENDEL II. Beyond acting, Kaitlyn's passion extends to filmmaking. A distinguished graduate of the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School (AFTRS), she specialized in cinematography. Her directorial project, Therapy: The Musical, not only clinched the Best Director award at the 2020 Lights! Canberra! Action! Festival but also enjoyed screenings at prestigious events, including the Sydney Women’s International, Melbourne Women in Film, and Canberra Short Film Festival.

Kaitlyn also won the 'Best Performance Award' at the Lights, Canberra Action Film Festival in 2024.

Brendan Kelly

Brendan Kelly is an accomplished actor, writer, director, and producer based in the Australian Capital Territory. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Performance from Perform Australia. Since completing his training, Kelly has been a vibrant member of the Canberra theatre and film community. His short film, Dying Art, which he wrote and starred in, has been received many awards, including Best Director and Best Screenplay. He has appeared in more than 35 other short films, many of which have toured the festival circuit. He has also appeared in television series including Fragments and feature films such as Blue World Order, The Furies and Me, My Mates and the Zombie Apocalypse. Kelly's talent has also illuminated many local theatre productions, notably in a variety of roles with Honest Puck Theatre. His theatre credits include Danny The Champion Of The World (2020), The Woman In Black (2019), Henry Five (2016), and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged (2015), alongside his directorial work in Mistakes Were Made (2018).

This workshop is for anyone over 15 who is:

  • Anyone who's curious about studying acting, and would like to give it a try
  • Actors who have some experience in acting, but have never gone professional - and would like to hear about how to do it
  • Anyone who would like to develop their acting skills

This workshop is practical and you'll have a chance to participate in acting exercises, drama games, and on-camera work.
