Isabel Sargeant
Teaching Artist

Isabel Sargeant is a director and creative undertaking a Bachelor of Arts and Education (Drama & Ancient history) from the University of New England. They work across many areas of the creative arts including theatre, music, and dance, focusing on developing students capabilities in the performing arts. Before moving to Canberra, Isabel was the Combined Association of Student Theatre (CAST) representative with the UNSW Theatrical Society and
produced, directed, and performed in a number of productions at both UNSW and throughout Sydney's student and community theatre scene.

Previously, Isabel has been a board member of the Youth Advisory Body with Shopfront Arts Co-op, with ATYP's Youth Advisory Board 2023-25, and has taught classes in drama, hip-hop, jazz & tap, and musical theatre for ages k-6 in Sydney private schools. In 2023, Isabel was the recipient of the Bathurst Australia Day Award- Youth Arts Award for outstanding performance and contribution to the performing arts in Bathurst and surrounds.

Coming from regional NSW, Isabel has a passion for developing arts advocacy and accessibility for students who typically cannot access it, working with young people to promote the performing arts and create environments where students are encouraged to become their fullest selves. Moving to Canberra, Isabel hopes to develop their creative practice and teaching capabilities to cater to a wider audience.
