
The Studio Program
Welcome to The Studio Program - a special actor training class for advanced students between the ages of 13-17.

If you have been studying drama with us or another organisation for a number of years, and are looking to be extended as a performer, The Studio Program may be right for you.
​
New in 2025, this program takes place on Tuesday afternoons at our Griffith campus in Canberra.
The Class
WHEN: Tuesdays, 4:30pm-6:30pm
WHERE: Studio 2, Perform Australia, 2A Barker St, Griffith ACT
FOR: Students aged 14-17 who have at least three years' experience in regular drama classes.

Variety is the spice of life with this class! - each term you may have a different tutor who'll introduce you to their area of expertise.

​​Term 1: Bringing Scripts to Life! - Scene Work & Character Exploration
This term is all about understanding scenes, building authentic characters, and making powerful acting choices.
📖 Weeks 1-3: Unlocking the Script - Learn how to break down a scene. Discover beats, objectives, and actions to bring depth to your performance. Get hands-on with Stanislavski’s system to explore character development.
🎬 Weeks 4-6: Scene Work – Finding the Heart of the Story Partner up for scene work focusing on relationships, motivation, and intention. Deepen your understanding of your character’s objectives and choices.
🔥 Weeks 7-9: Bringing Scenes to Life - Apply techniques to create authentic emotions and connections. Refine your performance to make it natural, compelling, and real.
🎠Week 10: Performance Showcase! Take the stage and perform your scenes, showing off your hard work and character discoveries! This is your chance to shine in front of an audience and bring your scene to an in-studio performance for family and friends.
Ready to enrol?
Eligibility requirements:

You must have a minimum of three years' acting experience (regular, weekly drama/musical theatre classes at Perform Australia or another drama school)

You must be at least 14 and under 18

You must be ready and willing to work with others, and try new things

You must be willing to work with different teachers and experience their different teaching styles, techniques, and traditions

You must bring a positive attitude to class (which of course you will, if you love acting!)
