It’s Sydney in the 1950s: a city of slums, rats and violence. It’s hardly a place for women who want to improve their lot in life… or is it?
Poison can solve some of your problems, it seems, especially if you’re Yvonne Fletcher, Caroline Grills, or Veronica Monty – three women who each took a little vial from supermarket shelves and turned it to their own devices.
In Dangerous Conceits, their chilling stories play out – and as audience, we’re left wondering: whom should we believe?
Performed by Perform Australia’s Advanced Diploma of Performance students, and based on a true story, this is the world premiere of Dangerous Conceits.
WHEN: 17-19 September, 2024
WHERE: Tuggeranong Arts Centre Theatre, Reed St, Greenway
Following on from High School Musical Jr, High School Musical 2 Jr brings back all our favorite characters. At the Lava Springs Country Club, popular girl, Sharpay, reigns supreme while the Wildcats get to work — literally! Featuring every ounce of the light-hearted fun that made High School Musical a household name, this buoyant sequel follows our East High favorites as they face the realities of the adult world and begin to grow up. Friendships are tested, summer romances go haywire and the meaning of success is redefined. Performed by Perform Australia's Musical Theatre class aged 9-15 years.
WHEN: 14-15 September
WHERE: Canberra College Performing Arts Centre, 2 Launceston Street, Philip ACT 2606
Presented by Perform Australia’s Certificate IV in Acting students, The Mysterious Tale of the Mary-Celeste tells the story of a merchant vessel which was found abandoned near the Azores Islands in 1872. Known as a ‘ghost ship’, due to the absence of people on board, the Mary-Celeste has puzzled historians and adventurers alike. No one knows what happened to its crew: was it pirates? Disease? Aliens, even? This play is a mad romp through all the possible explanations… while also pointing to the fragility of human life when we are at the mercy of forces greater than ourselves.
WHEN: 2-3 September
WHERE: Pip Theatre, 20 Park Rd, Milton QLD

Perform Australia's Academy Program presents “Stupid Is Just 4 2Day” by Lindsay Price, and directed by James Scott, performed by our Year 8-10 students.
We all have moments of earth-shattering, mind-numbing, crawl-into-a-hole-and-die stupidity. It's inevitable and impossible to avoid. You will connect and commiserate with these characters, who crash into displays, cheat on tests though they know it's wrong, do things they were explicitly told not to, fart in front of the whole school, and shave their heads to impress a girl…
Following the play performance, the students will also present some song and dance from their choral and movement programs.
Venue: Mill Theatre, Dairy Road Fyshwick
